Housed in a 5,000 square foot facility in the historic 1908 Heritage Hall, The Space Museum and Grissom Center’s main exhibit hall showcases hundreds of significant aerospace artifacts spanning the history of space exploration. Marvel at museum galleries showcasing each of NASA’s human spaceflight programs featuring relics of the Space Race found nowhere else in Missouri.

Experience a Space Shuttle launch firsthand in our Shuttle Theater Experience, simulating the launch of a Shuttle as it climbs up to an orbital velocity of 17,500 miles per hour. Look on as an original Space Shuttle launch console displays updates as the launch happens before your eyes, reliving an era that came to an end with the retirement of the Space Shuttle in 2011.

Launch into a world of hands-on exploration with the museum's interactive exhibits. Engage with displays designed to spark imagination for visitors of all ages. Experience Max Q, our animatronic RoboThespian that was once used to educate the public at a NASA space center. Engage with Max Q by programming him to speak and move using an interactive touch screen, and watch as he narrates our immersive Shuttle Experience.
