As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, The Space Museum and Grissom Center relies heavily on the help of volunteers in inspiring the next generation of aerospace innovators. Volunteers are instrumental in contributing to their community and making a difference in spaceflight outreach and education. As members of the museum team, volunteers gain unprecedented hands-on experience engaging with the public and with artifacts from the history of space exploration.

Opportunities to help at The Space Museum and Grissom Center exist at every level including engaging with guests about space exploration, leading tours, helping with administrative needs, and coordinating educational programs. The dynamic and expanding needs of our museum facilitate roles for a wide variety of volunteers and their areas of interest.

A passion for spaceflight history and an ability to engage with visitors! No background experience is necessary, although those with experience in the aerospace industry are encouraged to volunteer and share their expertise with the public. We seek individuals who have the ability to volunteer at regular intervals of either weekly or monthly shifts. For special events, one-time volunteers with the ability to volunteer for that day are needed as well.
